February 11, 2020

Athletes have persistence, dedication, and grit according to Lynn Loo, director of the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment and the Theodora D. ’78 and William H. Walton III ’74 Professor in Engineering. Matthew Marquardt, a junior on Princeton’s swimming and diving team and a chemistry major, applied those attributes in helping to launch solar-powered smart windows on campus. The project is a pilot installation of a technology that developed in Loo’s lab, which is being commercialized by her and co-founder Nick Davy’s startup, Andluca Technologies.

In this 5-min video, Marquardt is highlighted for his work and perseverance in refining prototype after prototype that resulted in a successful pilot project installation of Andluca’s smart windows at Bowen Hall on Princeton’s campus.
