Department of Energy’s Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship

The Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship is accepting applications from undergraduates (who will complete their sophomore year in Spring 2012) and from graduate students for its 2012 Summer Internship Program.  Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy, the fellowship seeks to provide opportunities to women and minority students majoring in Science, Technology (IT), Engineering, and Mathematics. Formerly known as the Office of Fossil Energy’s Minority Education Initiative, the award was renamed in 2000 to honor the late Congressman from Houston who died on August 7, 1989 in a plane crash. The deadline for applications is December 31, 2011.  For more information about DOE/FE, eligibility, and to complete the MLEF application, please visit DOE-Fossil Energy:  DOE Fossil Energy Summer Internship Program.
