Molecular Biology: Assistant Professor

The Molecular Biology Department at Princeton University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Synthetic Biology. We are seeking candidates whose research focuses on fundamental biological questions but who bring an engineering, orthogonal chemistry, or physical perspective to the problems they pursue. We are particularly interested in topics such as the design principles underlying cellular signal transduction systems, reinterpreting the genetic code, metabolic engineering, bioenergy, and novel bioproducts for industrial or medical uses. This search is in cooperation with the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment and may include a joint appointment in the Andlinger Center. We seek faculty members who will create a climate that embraces excellence and diversity, with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring that will enhance the work of the department and attract and retain students of all races, nationalities, and genders.

The University has a strong commitment to interdisciplinary studies, especially in the areas of systems biology, imaging, genomics, biophysics, chemical biology, engineering, and evolution. The department has high-level computing, imaging, and mass spectrometry facilities, DNA array and high throughput sequencing technologies, and a state of the art vivarium.
